PARK SERVICE ANNOUNCES INTERNSHIPS ON UPPER DELAWARE
College students who want a taste of what it’s like to be a Park Ranger for the National Park Service have a chance to do just that next summer along the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River. The park service is expecting to offer five internships next summer to students who enjoy working with kids and young adults. The jobs run from May 16 through September 5th and are flexible to coincide with college schedules. A stipend, uniform allowance, housing and mileage allowance to and from the residence to the daily work site are included in the program. Interns will also get a full exposure to the variety of jobs along the river, including making educational presentations to summer camps and youth groups, staffing information and river access kiosks, conducting canoe river patrols and providing historical interpretation of such locations as the Roebling Bridge and the Zane Grey house. Those interested should contact Internship Coordinator Ingrid Peterec at 5-7-0-6-8-5-48-71. Applications should contain a resume and two letters of recommendation and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applicants will be given first consideration. Resumes should be sent to the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River a 2-74 River Road, Beach Lake, PA 1-8-4-0-5.
