We are a volunteer organization — our Board officers and directors do the yeoman's work of monitoring regional issues, attending public hearings, running events, and intervening technically and legally on the issues that matter most. Benefits, renewal & cancellation

Everything you need to know about being an Orange Environment member — what you get, how renewal works, and how to cancel any time.

Every tier includes our member newsletter, advocacy alerts, discounted workshop and event pricing, and voting rights at the annual meeting. Higher tiers add priority RSVP for hearings, pollinator walks, and workshops, an Annual Award Dinner invitation, and — at the Anniversary Circle level — named recognition in our annual report and a Board briefing invitation. Annual is a single yearly payment that covers you for 12 months from your join date. Monthly is a recurring PayPal subscription at 1/12 of the annual tier — same benefits, spread out. Monthly is our most predictable funding and helps us plan hearings and technical review across the full year.

Annual members receive a friendly reminder email about two weeks before their join anniversary with a one-click PayPal link to renew. Nothing charges automatically on annual — you re-authorize each year. Monthly members renew automatically through PayPal's recurring donation until you cancel. Either way, you'll get an emailed receipt every time a payment goes through.

For monthly recurring: log into PayPal, go to Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments, and cancel the Orange Environment subscription — it takes about 30 seconds and no future payment will be charged. For annual: simply don't renew when the reminder arrives. You can also email info@orangeenvironment.org and we'll help. There are no cancellation fees and no questions asked.

Yes. Email info@orangeenvironment.org and we'll prorate an upgrade at any time, or you can simply choose the higher tier at your next renewal. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal cycle.

Because we're a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) and your dues fund advocacy work that starts immediately, memberships are generally non-refundable. That said, if there's a billing error or a genuine problem, email info@orangeenvironment.org — we'll always make it right.

Yes. Complete the signup with your payment info but list the recipient's name and email in the notes field, and we'll send them a welcome email crediting the gift to you. Gift memberships make great housewarming, birthday, or graduation presents for Hudson Valley neighbors.

Yes — small businesses, congregations, and community organizations can join at any tier (Anniversary Circle is most common) and be recognized in our annual report. For custom sponsorship or partnership packages, email info@orangeenvironment.org.
